This is a remote/hybrid position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal Canada. If you are located in Ottawa, you will work a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week at our Ottawa HQ.

Salary Range 

Annual cash compensation ranges from $145,500 to $213,400, plus a discretionary 15% company bonus. The final offer within this range will reflect the successful candidate’s skills and experience.

About the team

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Procurement to lead our end-to-end global procurement function. You will shape, execute and oversee sourcing strategies, partner in key supplier relationships, support complex negotiations, drive improved processes and provide team leadership.  This role will establish and govern procurement practices that support cost efficiency, risk management, compliance, and operational effectiveness across Kinaxis.

This is a new role designed to elevate our overall performance.  We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and results-oriented leader who can build strong relationships across the business. We are looking for an individual who is also comfortable working operationally to improve procurement processes and systems. In this role you will lead a small team of procurement professionals responsible for global purchasing activities across the organization.

What you will do

Procurement Strategy & Governance

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide procurement strategies aligned with business and financial objectives.
  • Establish, communicate, and govern procurement policies, standards, and procedures across the global organization ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Own relationships with strategic and critical suppliers.
  • Oversee vendor performance, contract compliance, and issue resolution.
  • Establish and maintain a global vendor management framework in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Procurement Operations & Process Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end purchasing workflows to ensure efficiency, consistency, and transparency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and automation.
  • Identify and mitigate third-party and supplier related risks in alignment with enterprise risk management standards.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Lead or support complex commercial negotiations in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • Oversee sourcing activities including tenders, bids, quotations, and contract finalization.

What we are looking for

  • Professional certification such as NISCL-CSCL (National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders – Certified Supply Chain Leader, previously the CSCMP), or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of global sourcing, contract management, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated capability in negotiating complex, high-value commercial agreements.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite), procurement and contract management tools (e.g. Ironclad) and familiarity with IT Service Management tools.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to integrity, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.
