Location

This is a remote position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada. If you are located in Ottawa you will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in our Ottawa headquarters

About the team

Working closely with designers, a videographer, the content team, and the Senior Creative Manager, the Design and Content Specialist will support the expansion of the company's brand identity and awareness and assist in the creation and editing of visual assets, graphic materials, and written content for various marketing campaigns, corporate events, websites, PowerPoint presentations, and interactive PDFs.  

 

They will actively participate in creative brainstorming sessions, visual concepting, team and project meetings, and weekly check-ins, collaborating with other designers, writers, and marketing leaders. They will also be responsible for organizing files and graphics in alignment with the Creative team's standards and some essential project management duties. Through this experience, the candidate will gain valuable knowledge in design, and content marketing techniques and develop key business skills such as communication, time management, feedback exchange, presentation, and collaboration. 

What you will do

 

Visual Design and Brand 

  • Collaborate with industry professionals to develop and execute creative design solutions for various projects. 
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to design and produce high-quality graphics and other visual assets. 
  • Take direction and feedback from team members to refine and improve designs. 
  • Contribute fresh and innovative ideas to design projects. Stay up-to-date with current design trends and techniques. 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of creative tasks for Marketing initiatives. 
  • Work closely with the Creative team to ensure brand consistency across all design projects. 
  • Maintain organized and detailed files for all design projects. 
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. 
  • Actively participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions. 
  • Represent Kinaxis in a professional and positive manner at all times. 

Content and storytelling 

  • Gain familiarity with our brand voice and style guidelines  
  • Edit or write copy for visual assets, such as event booths, advertising, and social media graphics 
  • Help us tell one, unified story across brand touchpoints 

What we are looking for

 
  • You’re fresh into the workforce or you recently completed, a BA or BFA in related field(Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Interactive Design, Digital Design)  
  • Someone with experience being a creator on YouTube or other social media; your main strength is in design but you have skills in writing a story, performing, and putting together visual content in a scrappy, engaging way 
  • Strong knowledge of design tools and prototyping software such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop with proficiency in other Adobe CC tools  
  • A passion for graphic design, visual communication and a functional understanding of design theory and principles 
  • An interest in cultivating storytelling, writing, or content marketing skills 
  • Someone who’s curious and interested in learning about B2B marketing and what makes it tick 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and a desire to play with AI tools as an enhancer of people-powered creativity, not a substitute for it 
  • Understanding of Web UI standards, responsive design frameworks (basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge is a plus), environmental graphics, SEO/AEO, and/or production process  
  • A general understanding of digital trends, especially in B2B. 

An advantage if you have: 

  • Strong communication skills, the ability to articulate the design process in meetings and through messages and emails with key stakeholders 
  • Good project management skills for proactively following up with stakeholders when needed 
  • Interest or experience in brand advertising 
  • Bonus: you’ve been a content creator in a past or current life
