Kinaxis has a well-established team of Sales and Professional Services professionals across the US. Our newest office is based in Irving’s Las Colinas development and will serve as a centralized hub where employees and customers from across the US can come together to work towards solving some of the biggest challenges facing supply chains.  

Location

This is a remote position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in the United States or Canada. Please note if you are located in Ottawa, Canada we work a hybrid schedule where you will be required to be in the office 4 days per week.

About the team

As the Senior Manager, Business Consulting you will lead a small team of Business Consultants that contribute to the success of sales objectives by providing market domain expertise and product knowledge during all pre-sales engagements. This role works in tandem with the sales organization focusing on all activities that will ensure target sales achievement and total customer satisfaction. 

What you will do

The Technical Business Consulting role is one half of a two-part Pre-Sales consulting organization. A typical sales cycle includes several demonstrations of product functionality. These are performed by the Functional Business Consultants. Technical Business Consultants work alongside their functional counterparts to support the conversations especially once the prospects’ IT teams are involved.

As the leader of the Technical Business Consulting organization, you will manage the current and future global Technical Business Consultants, manage the infrastructure that supports the global Business Consultants, and serve as the technical SME for sales engagements. You will work closely with Product Management, Product Development, Security & Compliance, and Cloud Engineering to evolve sales positioning, build technical differentiation, and architect technical solutions for our prospects. You will report to the EVP, Business Consulting.

As the team leader, you will build and manage collateral and ensure consistent messaging across global opportunities. As the SME, you will evangelize Kinaxis’ technical superiority in Supply Chain Orchestration.

You and your team will be primarily responsible for Sales Opportunities, which involve tasks such as:

  • Technology discussions and presentations, and occasionally demonstrations of product features such as:
    • APIs
    • Security Roles
    • Administrative Tasks
    • Automation & Scripting
    • Bi-directional integration with common ERPs such as SAP
  • Support POCs for prospects with technical support and expertise
  • Maintain a virtualized server environment for hosting demos for the Global sales organization and maintain automation that helps deploy these tools to non-technical Business Consultants
  • Maintain a sales-owed Azure/GCP subscription
  • Engage as RFPs are received, including formulating questions, engaging on discovery, answering non-standard questions, and engaging with other teams (Security & Compliance, for example) to complete
  • Support global Functional Business Consultants for technical support
  • Continuously improve messaging and content via new presentation materials and videos
  • Stay abreast of ongoing technology evolution through industry events
  • Support Supply Chain industry events as technical SME
  • Assist our partner sales & implementation teams with pre-sales technical support
  • Close the loop with feedback back to Sales and Product leadership
  • Engage with Professional Services to hand-off once the deal is won
  • Travel occasionally (30%) as sales engagements require, as well as corporate and industry events.

Ultimately, your goal is to build technical preference in Kinaxis solutions and ensure your team can do so as well. To do this, you need to understand the prospect’s needs & preferences and articulate how Kinaxis technology aligns.

You will use your unique blend of interpersonal and technical skills to take deeply technical information and articulate it at the appropriate level of detail for IT project teams through the C-suite and do so in a compelling way. You’ll also learn about our customers and the ways they use Maestro technology, then articulate those stories for prospects.

    Technical Expertise

    • Enterprise Architecture: You’ve had experience with and can articulate DB concepts and design (graph, relational, columnar, etc.), communication protocols, UI constructs, compute types (elastic, serverless, containerized, etc.), firewalls, virtualization, storage clusters, data integrity, etc.
    • Cloud Architecture: You understand how Cloud technologies work and can articulate the differences between Private, Public, and Hybrid clouds, and cloud technologies such as Spark, Hive, Argo, Kubernetes, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, Salesforce, S3, Power BI, etc. You are also familiar with strategies such as regional deployments, DR, replication, HA, etc.
    • Security: You’re able to discuss common cloud security paradigms such as SOC reporting, ISO standards, encryption types/strengths/ciphers, Pen Tests, data segregation, keystores, GDPR, SSO, SIEM, etc.
    • ERP: You’ve had experience with common ERP systems and their corresponding technical landscapes such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.
    • Integration: You’re familiar with ETL concepts both generic (Informatica, TIBCO, Talend, etc.) and ERP-specific (SAP Integration Suite, etc.)
    • Hands-On: You’re not a programmer, but you have a general ability to write and edit scripts is JavaScript, PowerShell, R, Python, etc. You can also use a tool like Postman to demonstrate APIs leveraging JSON, Bearer Tokens, etc.

    You can balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and ensure Kinaxis always delivers

    Leadership Qualities

    You’ll be leading a team of well-respected Sales Engineering experts located in the US and Europe. We expect to grow this team to APAC and expand the team scope to include other roles such as Data Science and demo support. As a leader, we expect that you:
