About the team

Kinaxis is seeking a talented and passionate Machine Learning Staff Developer to join our cutting-edge research and development team. As a Staff Developer in the Product R&D team, you will work with our Head AI Scientist at the forefront of shaping the future of artificial intelligence. Your work will directly impact our enterprise-grade AI software platform and solutions, which are used by hundreds of customers worldwide to manage their supply chains.

What you will do

  • Define, drive, design, and build end-to-end machine learning solutions that not only solve real customer problems but also create automated ML-based solutions specifically tailored for forecasting, optimizing, and managing our customers’ supply chains
  • Innovate by trying new approaches, learning new technologies, and actively researching and exploring state-of-the-art and innovative machine learning methods
  • Contribute to the scientific vision and AI/ML strategy for scalable, auditable, and maintainable enterprise production AI solution software
  • Contribute to the end-to-end AI software development lifecycle, ensuring reproducible research and state of the art results for our customers
  • Work with members of our AI Lab academic partners on research projects

What we are looking for

Ideal candidates will have a track record of scientific leadership and technical strength. Successful candidates must be passionate about inventing and delivering customer-focused solutions to ambitious and ambiguous challenges.

  • A Masters or PhD (preferred) in computer science/AI or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering production machine learning solutions for complex business problems
  • Experience with cloud-based data processing, machine learning services, tools, and professional software development of large-scale distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Python with at least 5 years of experience
  • Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to research scientists, engineering teams and business audiences
  • Ability to explore and design models, systems and solutions taking into account real-world constraints and user experience, and implement them via production-grade code that is systematically evaluated, well-tested and easy to maintain

What would make you stand out:

  • Publication track record in tier 1 or tier 2 machine learning conferences and/or journals.
  • Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability and statistics, calculus, and optimization.
  • Solid background in Machine Learning fundamentals, statistical methods for ML, Bayesian methods, parametric and non-parametric methods, variational inference, generative models, stochastic processes, model explainability, etc.
  • Familiarity with Deep Learning techniques such as network architectures, transformers, embeddings, regularizations, optimization strategies, transfer learning, distillation, etc.
  • Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX or similar frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of NLP, Large Language Models (LLM), RAG, fine-tuning and LLM model development and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with the latest open-source libraries, tools, and frameworks in AI and GenAI, such as LangChain, agents, vector databases, etc.
