Location

This is a remote/hybrid position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada or the USA. Please be aware we work a hybrid schedule if you are located in Ottawa, Canada you will be expected to be in office 3 days per week. 

 

About the team

The Global Compensation Specialist, as a fully proficient professional with in-depth experience, is responsible for managing and administering compensation programs for employees across various regions or countries within Kinaxis. The incumbent ensures that the organization's compensation policies align with its strategic objectives while remaining competitive in the global job market.

 

The incumbent uses global data and a detailed understanding of global market analysis and industry leading practices to develop approaches, drive decisions, and evolve the compensation strategies, recognition and rewards programs that align with and support the company’s business strategy and total rewards strategy. The incumbent will be defining and delivering global compensation programs that align to a comprehensive Total Rewards offerings and contribute to the company’s employee value proposition.

 

What you will do

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of compensation structures, including base pay, incentives, bonuses, and benefits, to ensure they are competitive and compliant with local regulations across different regions.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, salary surveys, and industry benchmarks to make informed decisions regarding compensation strategies. This involves understanding regional differences in compensation practices and cost-of-living adjustments.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate compensation policies and guidelines that adhere to legal requirements and organizational standards. Ensure compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and reporting requirements in each country of operation.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to evaluate and grade jobs based on factors such as job responsibilities, skills required, and market demand. Establish consistent job grading systems to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Conduct regular competitive broad-based compensation plan design and pay level benchmarking for employee and management job families and positions (including performance-based programs) leveraging internal data and external market data
  • Maintain and apply the Job Accountability Framework and manage the job evaluation process in collaboration with external advisors
  • Draft/review/update current broad-based compensation policies and procedures as required
  • Participate in compensation decisions for globally mobile employees, including expatriates and international assignees.
  • Research, review/analyze and summarize current/proposed legislation and regulation impacting broad-based compensation, including Pay Equity programming and requirements.
  • Ongoing review and evaluation of elements of broad-based (non-executive) compensation, including updating global salary ranges and market surveys to ensure competitive compensation
  • Guide leaders on compensation conversations based on salary structures and compensation programs.

What we are looking for

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, business (or related field)
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on compensation in a high-tech, global environment
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to coordinate input from multiple sources to develop impactful recommendations to achieve results for the business.
  • A clear, concise, and professional communicator with the ability to present complex information to various audiences, and demonstrate knowledge within direct and indirect team
  • Experience working with information that requires accuracy, attention to detail, using organization skills and agility while managing multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Highly adaptable and able to pivot based on prioritization and needs of the business; proactively solicits feedback to ensure alignment.
  • Resilient with a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced, innovation driven, and ambiguous environment
  • Exposure and experience (2 years minimum, PMP certification desired) with project management systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g. CCP, CSCP)
  • Experience with Compensation data management tools, such as PayFactors and Success Factors
  • Experience with global compensation in a publicly traded company with compliance and reporting requirements
  • Experience with global salary surveys, development of broad-based compensation programs, and compensation structures including bonus/incentive programs
  • Experience with job evaluation and job levelling
  • Some experience with broader rewards and recognition programs preferred (e.g. recognition awards, spot awards)
  • Some experience with performance management programs preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
